This specialty course is designed to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of scuba diving equipment. With actual hands-on experience in the maintenance of your gear you will be able to save that special dive and aid others with equipment problems. You will gain a better understanding on how scuba works, what you can and cannot maintain yourself, what tools you will need and how to recognize and deal with common equipment problems.

This is not a manufacturer equipment repair course!

Pre-requisite: PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent

Upon completion you will earn the PADI Equipment Specialist certification.

This course counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating.
Master Scuba Diver is the highest non-instructional classification in the PADI system of diver education.
For this level of achievement you must have 50 logged dives and hold PADI Rescue Diver along with five PADI Specialties.
